Once a week we sample every variety in the vineyard to check maturity of the grapes.  The juice needs to be settled before it can be tested and the old Fowler No.36 preserving jars are just the right size for this job.  This pic from vintage 2013 is taken later in the season as it’s only red varieties.  It’s interesting to see the various shades of the different juices even without any skin contact.
